Via Christi launches $4M project to convert to private rooms at St. Francis
The private room conversion project at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS offers future flexibility in anticipation of healthcare industry changes. An ‘evolving’ floor plan prototype can be adjusted to fit emerging models of care, giving the hospital the opportunity to adapt to new technologies or practices and evolving inpatient bed requirements resulting from demographic and payment changes.
All of the renovated and newly constructed rooms are sized and in compliance with code requirements for either med/surg or progressive care unit (PCU) modalities. Enhanced medical gas and power capacity enable easy conversion to progressive (or step-down) care units in the future.
