Defining Unique Service Line Identity
Presbyterian Hospital Women’s Services Center
FreemanWhite, in collaboration with McCulloch England, provided interior design services to create the feel of a spa within a boutique hotel. The ground floor elevator lobby features warm stone floors with insets of glass mosaic tiles, wood accented walls, and specialty lighting, giving visitors the impression of a hotel lobby; the two-story elevator lobby on the seventh floor features skylights and wonderful views to the downtown skyline. Stone floors with rich carpet insets highlight public spaces and family waiting areas. Natural cherry tones, stone, and soft blues and greens realize the design vision.
These colors and materials are carried into the patient spaces. Flooring patterns and ceiling elements introduce soft, curved forms, enhancing the feel of a spa. Patient rooms are identified with wood portals highlighted with sconces. Way finding and signage were developed along this same concept, and rooms are identified with hotel-like room plaques.
