Serving a five-country region, the Jeff Gordon Children’s Hospital provides 28 private pediatric patient rooms. Each contains a TV/DVD, monitoring capabilities, and Internet work stations, as well as space for play, activities, and sleep for family members. Additionally, the hospital also contains a five-bed PICU and associated 15-bed Level 4 NICU for babies born prematurely or with special needs.
The large patient rooms are zoned to distinguish the child’s space from the family and staff spaces. Pediatric patients can control environmental elements, including dimming decorative lights, managing the amount of natural light, and determining privacy needs via internal blinds. Other amenities, including TV/DVD and wireless internet access are available to both children and their families.
