The Cancer Center, adjacent to the main entrance, was designed to house all cancer services and specialists under one roof to minimize patient anxiety and make for a smooth, seamless transition from one area to another.
It was achieved through a vision to create a harmonious workspace for staff and where cancer services are centered around what patients need most — whole-body care. Carefully considered design elements from soft lighting to spa-infused features to comfortable furniture make for a relaxing space for patients to receive treatment and where family and friends are encouraged to participate in ways that help their loved ones heal.
The overall design of the cancer center incorporates an evidence-based design approach that optimizes operations and enhances the patient experience to increase patient and staff satisfaction. In addition, the project’s planning addressed the need for a relaxing space for patients to retrieve treatment by utilizing spa-infused features such as meditation, wellness, and retail spaces. These respite areas can be found throughout the facility to support the patient’s healing experience and to provide mindfulness-based stress reduction.
